A whole-dog approach to lasting change
One of the biggest differences between From The Heart and many other training companies is simple: we don't believe behavior exists in isolation.
Your relationship is the most powerful tool
At the heart of our training is the belief that your relationship with your dog is the most powerful tool in shaping their behavior. We don't just teach your dog — we help you understand how dogs think, learn, and communicate, so you can build a lasting, trusting bond.
Our training isn't just about commands. It's about creating a partnership based on respect, understanding, and clear communication. Whether through private coaching, workshops, or immersive camps, we focus on personalized guidance that meets your unique goals — teaching you to read your dog's body language, understand their needs, and build a routine that promotes long-term success.
Behavior is influenced by everything
Training is only one piece of the puzzle. When we look at a dog, we consider the whole picture:
- Fulfillment
- Structure
- Communication
- Confidence
- Relationship
- Nutrition
- Physical health
- Emotional wellbeing
- Environment
- Lifestyle
Everything we teach is built on five pillars
These pillars are a consistent visual and educational theme across everything we do.
Fulfillment
Meeting your dog's real needs — physical, mental, and emotional — so calm, confident behavior has a foundation to stand on.
Structure
Clear, consistent boundaries and routines that help your dog feel secure because they always know what to expect.
Communication
Learning to read your dog — and to speak in a way they actually understand — so you're finally on the same page.
Confidence
Helping dogs (and their owners) move through the world calmly and steadily, without fear or overwhelm.
Relationship
The whole point of everything we do: a deep, trusting relationship that lasts a lifetime.
Nutrition is part of our philosophy
Victoria is certified in canine nutrition — not to prescribe individualized meal plans, but to educate owners on how nutrition influences behavior, energy, recovery, and quality of life. When dogs feel better physically, they learn better, recover better, and behave better.
The tools that fit your dog
We use a variety of training tools based on what's best for you and your dog — including slip leads, which promote a natural, comfortable connection. For those interested in off-leash freedom, we can also safely and effectively introduce an e-collar, so your dog can enjoy more freedom while staying under control.
Ultimately, our goal is to give you the tools and knowledge to have a harmonious, fulfilling relationship with your dog — and to help you understand why behaviors exist in the first place.
